Some Common Bellydancing terms used on this site.
Hafla (HAHF lah) - A party. A private hafla is a gathering of belly dancers taking turns performing for each other, and open-floor dancing where everyone can get up and dance to the pre-recored or live music. A more public hafla would be a more formal festival, with vendors and a more formalized stage show. Raks (rocks) Arabic - The act of dancing. Raks Sheba "Sheba's Dance" Zaghareet (zah guh REET) - High pitched ululation done with the tounge. It is the sound of celebration.
